Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office searching for the suspect Diego Sanchez wanted in Adams County strip mall shooting
Deputies have released suspect information on the man wanted for a shooting at an Adams County shopping area that left a woman with injuries

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for the suspect involved in a shooting that occurred near the 5300 block of Sheridan Blvd. at 10:30 a.m. on January 25, 2023. The suspect is identified as Diego Sanchez, date of birth 03/19/86. Sanchez has an active warrant for:
- Criminal Attempt 1st Degree Murder (3 counts)
- 1st Degree Assault
- Illegal Possession of a Firearm
- Criminal Mischief (multiple counts)
Sanchez is described as a Hispanic male, 6’0″ tall, 185 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. He is associated with a gold colored 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier (4 door) with a red hood, license plate 894-WCV, or a blue 1979 Oldsmobile Omega (4 door), license plate CDW-442.
Sanchez is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred yesterday near the intersection of 52nd Ave. and Sheridan Blvd., after he began firing a weapon at a specific vehicle. Sanchez fired multiple rounds, hitting an innocent bystander who was in a business on the east side of Sheridan Blvd. Sanchez also hit another innocent bystander’s vehicle, while she was sitting at a red light in the area. No one was injured in that vehicle.
Sanchez is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach and call 911 immediately.
