The man who was shot and murdered on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of the Russell area in Louisville has been recognized by the Coroner for Jefferson County.

Jeremiah Buckner, 42 years old, was reportedly shot sometime about 1:30 p.m. on January 3 in the area of Esquire Alley and Roy Wilkins Avenue, as stated by the coroner.

Officers were dispatched to the location after receiving information that a shooting had taken place, as stated by Aaron Ellis, a spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Buckner was found to be suffering from a number of gunshot wounds when they arrived. It was determined that he had passed away at the site.

There is currently no evidence to point to any suspects.

Together, the four members of Linkin Bridge rose to prominence.

Shon “China” Lacy stated, “We mourned together, we triumphed together, and we accomplished things that were impossible at our age together.”

The founding members of Linkin Bridge were Shon “China” Lacy, Montre Davis, Rome Kimbrough, and Buckner, who were collectively referred to as “Ekoe.” He is regarded as the individual who was responsible for keeping the band together.

He was an extremely hard worker because of his “work ethic and determination, and if you didn’t work on that, he would doubt your seriousness,” Montre Davis said.
