According to the mayor of Reno, actor Jeremy Renner was hurt over the weekend while assisting a stranded vehicle in the mountains on the outskirts of the city.
A day after suffering a catastrophic injury while shoveling snow, actor Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye in the Marvel “Avengers” films, was listed as critical but stable in a Nevada hospital on Monday, according to his publicist and local authorities.
According to reports from the media, Renner’s publicist Samantha Mast claimed in a statement that the actor “suffered acute chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” in the accident. As a result, Renner underwent surgery on Monday and was afterwards admitted to the intensive care unit.
“Jeremy’s family would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses who are taking care of him, as well as Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families,” the statement said, according to the Hollywood Reporter and CNN.
“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
