Lockdown at Steenland Elementary School lifted

Shooting near schools in Roseville leaves one hospitalized, suspect in custody

Steenland Elementary School, which was put under lockdown due to a shooting outside the building, has now been released from the lockdown.

Officials from the school have stated that the incident occurred just before dismissal and that neither the students nor the staff were involved.

The victim, who is being treated at the hospital, is not affiliated with the school.

The police have apprehended a suspect, and the investigation is being conducted by the Roseville police. Currently, there is no threat to public safety.

The school is located on Chestnut, in the vicinity of Groesbeck Highway and I-696/Eleven Mile Road.
