On January 14, OPD was called to the 1700 block of SW 1st St., in Ocala in reference to a shooting. Two shooters fired multiple shots at the victim, however, the victim suffered one gunshot wound that thankfully was not life-threatening.
The two assailants were known by the victim and they were identified as Kanariya Pinellas, 17, and Kemariyon Foster, 20. Deonsha Brown, 20, was also identified as an associate.
Moments before the shooting, the victim was outside a residence, and a black Ford Fusion drove by. Brown was the driver, and the two shooters, Pinellas and Foster, were passengers. Pinellas and Foster then got out of the vehicle and began shooting toward the victim.
Pinellas was chasing and shooting at the victim. At some point during the event, the victim suffered a gunshot wound, and the assailants ran back to the black car and fled the scene. Multiple witnesses were present during this shooting.
Police were able to locate the vehicle and eventually found all three suspects. The suspects were interviewed and arrested.
Detective Drake arrested Pinellas for attempted murder; Foster for Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and Brown for accessory after the fact (attempted murder).
