Trial underway for man accused of shooting, killing two Toledo children

The trial has commenced for the man who stands accused of killing two brothers and injuring a third in a Toledo apartment two years ago.
The court has already heard opening statements and a few witness accounts, with plans to resume on Wednesday at 9 a.m. for additional testimony.
Kevin Moore faces two counts of aggravated murder of a victim under 13 years of age and one count of felonious assault, as per court documents, for the shooting deaths of five-year-old Ahmir Phillips and one-year-old Gabriel Phillips in February 2021.
He is also accused of shooting their brother, Ashtan Phillips, who was the only survivor.
Moore was reportedly the boyfriend of the boys’ mother at the time of the murders, and following a determination of his competency for trial, he is now standing trial.
