Keyon C. Eaglin and Genesis L. Covington arrested in relation to a homicide that occurred in the 4800 block of Burnt Oak Drive

Chesterfield police arrest man, woman in connection to deadly shooting

Two people have been arrested in connection with a murder that happened on Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the 4800 block of Burnt Oak Drive.

At around 12:49 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 4800 block of Burnt Oak Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Jonathan O. Starks who had been shot. Starks, who resided in the 4900 block of Burnt Oak Drive, was declared dead at the scene.

In connection with the homicide, the police made an arrest on February 2 of Keyon C. Eaglin, 21, who was found in the 400 block of Creekwillow Drive in Midlothian, and Genesis L. Covington, 21, who was discovered in the 14700 block of Inlet Court in Chesterfield. Both Eaglin and Covington have been charged with murder in the second degree, and both are currently being held without the possibility of bond at the Chesterfield County Jail. According to the findings of the investigation, both Eaglin and Covington were familiar names to Starks.
