Lockdown at Nichols School lifted after active shooter threat
Despite their efforts, no indication of any ongoing threat was discovered.

Buffalo police arrived at Nichols School shortly after 8 a.m. in response to reports of an alleged active shooter.
Several police vehicles were observed outside the school, and as a safety measure, the school was briefly placed on lockdown while the police conducted a thorough search of the premises with K-9 units.
Despite their efforts, no indication of any ongoing threat was discovered.
Nichols School, which is a private institution located on Amherst Street in north Buffalo, had students attending regular classes unlike other schools in the area that had breaks on Monday and Tuesday.
At around 9:45 a.m., Nichols School provided FOX3 with a statement.
“This morning, the Buffalo Police received a threat to the Nichols School and immediately came to campus and initiated a lockdown,” a representative of Nichols said. “They canvased the campus and buildings with personnel and K9 units, all of which have been cleared. Our safety protocols worked as intended, and the lockdown has been lifted.”
This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
