Louisiana State Police Investigating Deputy-Involved Shooting in East Feliciana Parish
East Feliciana Parish deputy injured in officer-involved shooting, suspect also injured

Ethel – Yesterday evening, Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation were requested by the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a deputy involved shooting, which occurred on Payne Road in Ethel.
One subject was shot and one deputy has been injured.
The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 7:30 p.m., a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Accord.
During the stop, the vehicle struck the deputy. In response, the deputy discharged his service weapon, striking the driver.
Both the driver and the deputy were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their minor to moderate injuries.
Louisiana State Police is the lead investigating agency into this deputy-involved shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
