Magnum, P.I. star Roger E. Mosley dies after car crash

Roger E. Mosley, an actor who was famous for his role in the 1980s crime show “Magnum, P.I.,” died on Sunday from injuries he got in a car crash last week, his daughter said. He was 83.

Roger E. Mosley, an actor who was famous for his role in the 1980s crime show “Magnum, P.I.,” died on Sunday from injuries he got in a car crash last week, his daughter said. He was 83.

Mosley, who as helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin on the popular television series, passed away surrounded by his family. Since the accident, he had been paralyzed below the shoulders and in severe condition, his daughter Ch-a Mosley posted on Facebook.

She said, “Roger E. Mosley, my father, your friend, your “coach Mosley” your “TC” from Magnum P.I., passed away at 1:17am. He was surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully. We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

On Sunday, actor Richard Brooks said a few kind words about Mosley.

Brooks wrote on Twitter, “Such sad news… This has been a tough few weeks. We’ve lost another great actor & legend today. I enjoyed working with Roger so much. He really came thru for me when I produced my first play. He was the best. Condolences to the Mosley family..”

Mosley and Tom Selleck were both stars on the show for eight years, from 1980 to 1988.
