According to the Port of Portland Police, two individuals have lost their lives as a result of a shooting that occurred at the Embassy Suites Portland Airport Hotel early on Wednesday.
The Strategic Communications Manager informed FOX3 that an incident took place at approximately 2 a.m.
FOX3’s team, present at the location by 5:30 a.m., interviewed hotel guests who reported hearing “10 to 12” gunshots and witnessing blood on the floor as police directed individuals towards the exit.
The entrance to the location is blocked by yellow crime scene tape, and multiple police cars can be seen alongside officers who are escorting guests wrapped in blankets.
At 8:30 a.m., the Port of Portland confirmed to FOX3 that a man and a woman were killed during the shooting that occurred around 2 a.m. at the hotel.
Currently, the East County Major Crimes Team (EMCT) is conducting an investigation into the matter.
The Port has stated that there is no immediate threat to the PDX airport or the surrounding vicinity.
