Man threw grenade in Amazon delivery truck in Oklahoma City

On Monday, an Oklahoma City delivery driver had a harrowing experience.

On Monday around 3:30 p.m., Oklahoma City police were dispatched to the 500 block of S.W. 27th St. for an accident.

When officers arrived, they discovered an Amazon delivery truck that had collided with a mailbox and a parked car.

According to the driver, he was turning around when he drove by a man and heard something hit the truck’s floor.

When the victim turned around to see what had fallen, he noticed a grenade rolling about the floorboard.

“[The victim] claimed he simply opened the driver’s door and jumped out without thinking. After hitting the ground, [the victim] had minor knee injuries. According to the police report, “[the victim] indicated he did not even put the van in park, he just let it drive away.”

The victim claimed that after the vehicle collided with the mailbox and parked car, he returned to the van and threw the bomb out the window.

Officers discovered the grenade and began evacuating residents as a precaution. The bomb squad was dispatched to the scene and the device was detonated.

Surveillance footage shows the perpetrator throwing the grenade into the victim’s truck, according to authorities.

So far, no one has been taken into custody in this case.
