Two sisters Jillian Wiener and Lindsay were killed after a fire ripped through the Southampton vacation home their family rented, according to authorities.

New York authorities report that two sisters from Potomac, Maryland, perished when a roaring fire overtook the Hamptons vacation home their family rented for the summer.
According to the Southampton Town Police Department, Jillian Wiener, 21, and Lindsay Wiener, 19, were upstairs asleep when flames started to spread through the Spring Lane home on Noyack, on the South Fork of Long Island.
When he heard glass cracking, their father Lewis Wiener, 60, tried to alert the family to leave the house. He was able to flee with his wife, 52-year-old Alisa Wiener. Police reported that their 23-year-old son Zachary also managed to escape the fire from a second-story window but the daughters did not..
Lewis Wiener attempted to enter the house again at one point, but the flames were too strong.
It took the efforts of firefighters from five different towns to put out the blaze.
After the fires subsided, they located the two young women. They were transported to a hospital and administered CPR, but they succumbed to their injuries.
According to Suffolk County police, the injuries sustained by the parents and their youngster were not considered to be life-threatening.
The family had rented the house for the summer, according to the police.
Goli Azhdam, a family friend and neighbor, told FOX3 that “my heart is absolutely full with anguish hearing this news.” “It’s really shocking because I’ve known them since they were born. Very sad news indeed.”
Jillian and Lindsay Wiener attended Holton-Arms School, a private all-girls institution in Bethesda, Maryland.
According to a statement from the school, Jillian enjoyed playing ice hockey and soccer in addition to practicing yoga and raising money for families of cancer patients. The school praised Lindsay for her commitment to volunteering, her leadership of the Jewish Culture Club, and her “bright energy and leadership.”
The sisters had a great influence on both their students and the larger school community, the school said. “As many of the Holton community will attest, the sisters were friendly, involved members of the Holton community.”
Lindsay was scheduled to return to Tulane for her sophomore year this autumn while Jillian was about to begin her senior year at the University of Michigan, according to Holton-Arms.
The origin of the fire is being investigated.
