Several Block Island Ferry passengers ‘hurt after terrifying armed fight erupts onboard’ with K9s scouring scene

A woman says Block Island was packed full of people today for the Reggae Festival at Ballard’s. She went to the festival, but said it wasn’t what she expected — “it was body on body.” She waited hours for a ferry back and thought she’d be stuck on the island overnight.

At least three people in handcuffs were escorted from the ferry by police.

Authorities have not confirmed reports that the suspect may be in possession of a gun.

According to some stories, a brawl broke out on the ship and people were cut with razors.

K9s from the Rhode Island State Police are on the site looking through the ship.

The ship’s passengers were sent to safety.

The ferry departed the Point Judith station about 11:30 p.m., but the enormous police presence remains.
