One of the five individuals who were shot and are in critical condition at Sparrow Hospital on Monday night at Michigan State University is Guadalupe Huapilla-Perez.

Her sister, Selena Huapilla-Perez, confirmed the news and mentioned that Guadalupe is listed on the Collier County Schools website as a member of the Class of 2020 at Immokalee High School.

Currently, Guadalupe is a junior at Michigan State University and is pursuing a degree in Hospitality Business.

According to investigators, on Monday evening, a man who is 43 years old walked onto the Michigan State University campus and opened fire at two different locations, resulting in the death of three students and injuring five others, including Guadalupe Huapilla-Perez.

The Director of Multicultural Business Affairs at MSU confirmed that he is acquainted with Huapilla-Perez and, along with the Spartan community, is praying for her recovery.

We have made contact with Guadalupe Huapilla-Perez’s family, who have created a GoFundMe page to cover the costs of her recovery and their travel expenses.

On the fundraising page, her sister mentions that the medical team has informed them that, despite her improving condition, a complete recovery will require several months of dedicated care and rehabilitation.
