Missing 3-year-old found dead in Lake Erie

The toddler was discovered dead in Lake Erie after a search by Pennsylvania State Police for a missing 3-year-old boy.

Police were called to Northview Drive in Harborcreek Township just after 5 p.m. Saturday for complaints of a missing kid.
Fairfield Hose Volunteer Fire Department, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Coast Guard, and other volunteer agencies responded on the scene. These organizations searched the area for the victim.
The victim was found around 120 yards off the shore of Lake Erie by members of the Fish and Boat Commission.
EMS professionals were waiting at the Shades Beach boat launch to perform life-saving procedures on the toddler. After being transferred to UPMC Hamot, the subject was pronounced dead shortly after 6:50 p.m.
John Maloney, the deputy coroner for Erie County, has said that the death was an accident and that there were no signs of foul play.
According to Pennsylvania State Police rules, no names will be given out about this incident. The state police are still looking into this scene.
