An employee was held hostage inside a Walmart in Richland, Mississippi by a woman brandishing a gun; this forced police to respond quickly and take deadly action.
The terrifying incident took place Wednesday night at a Walmart in Richland, Mississippi. Video taken inside the store shows a lady seizing a Walmart employee with one hand while brandishing a gun in the other.
As you can see, the Walmart employee appears afraid as the lady with the gun directs her throughout the store.
According to police, after responding to a complaint of a hostage situation, an officer shot and killed the suspect. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is currently looking into the incident after authorities said no one else was wounded.
Unknown as to why the lady held a Walmart employee hostage, police said they were told the suspect entered the establishment brandishing a gun and demanding news crews arrive.
People who were there said they were warned to leave the busy Walmart before they heard gunshots, according to the local television news station WAPT.
