5 persons injured after shooting at Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill in Cape Girardeau

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.

Update: After conducting further investigation, the Cape Girardeau Police department reports that the Cape Girardeau / Bollinger County Major Case Squad has identified five victims in relation to the incident, instead of the previously reported four.

All five victims are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.

The Major Case Squad has identified two suspects, namely Ranell Robinson (43) and Tyler Banks (24), both from Cape Girardeau.

Robinson has been taken into custody and formally charged with a class D felony of unlawful possession of a firearm, a class D felony of assault in the second degree, and felony armed criminal action.

He is currently being held on a $150,000 cash bond. Banks, on the other hand, has not been arrested yet and has been formally charged with Class D felony assault second degree and felony armed criminal action. The Cape Girardeau / Bollinger County Major Case Squad is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Banks.

On Saturday, March 4, 2023 at about 11:20 p.m., the Cape Girardeau Police Department received a report of multiple subjects shot inside 15 North Main (Hotshots Bar and Grill).

Upon arrival to the scene, officers located four (4) victims with gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

At this time, the Cape Girardeau/ Bollinger County Major Case Squad believe this incident is a targeted shooting and there is no threat to the general public.

The Cape Girardeau / Bollinger County Major Case Squad have been activated and are investigating.
