Following the receiving of a peculiar message from the husband, a friend of the couple contacted the authorities to report the incident.

On Friday, the bodies of Diane Albert, age 65, and Eric Pinkerton, age 63, were discovered inside their house.

According to the police, Pinkerton shot both Albert and their pets before turning the gun on himself.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a tweet that they are looking into the case as a murder-suicide and also said that Pinkerton called a friend.

According to the tweet, a friend of the deceased individuals reached out to law enforcement after getting a concerning message from Eric Pinkerton.

The information that “many dead animals” had been found inside the house was also included in the tweet.

“He allegedly confessed to his friend in a voicemail that he had killed his wife as well as their three pets, which included a cat and two dogs. And he is on the verge of committing himself, “according to the news source.

Friends and colleagues at the Los Ranchos Municipal Court have shared their recollections of Albert, who served as a judge there.

Howie Morales, the lieutenant governor of New Mexico, wrote, “I am stunned and devastated by the tragic shooting death of Diane Albert, a municipal judge for Los Ranchos, New Mexico, a former Los Alamos County councilwoman, and an accomplished and beloved person.

“My thoughts are with all of her many friends, as well as with her family and the rest of the Los Ranchos community. This heartbreaking event serves as a jarring illustration of how much further we still have to go to put an end to the epidemic of domestic abuse in the state of New Mexico.”
