According to the number of views that destinations receive on TikTok, New York City is the second most popular tourism destination in the entire world.
According to a research by the luggage storage company Bounce, New York City received 59.5 billion TikTok hits in 2022.
It was only surpassed by Dubai, which earned the top rank this year with approximately 82 billion views after New York fell to second place in the 2021 study.
With London, Istanbul, and Paris rounding out the top 5, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago took the next three places.
Travel TikTokers have historically flocked to New York in order to produce material that highlights the city’s skyline, food scene, Broadway, and other internationally renowned attractions. TikTok influencers are being increasingly sought after by potential tourists seeking information on how to make the most of their time in the city that never sleeps.
The views were taken at the same time as a surge in actual tourism to the Big Apple. The officials in charge of tourism in New York City told that they anticipate a rise of 70 percent from 2021’s numbers, bringing the total number of tourists to 56 million in 2022.
