All clear was given at the Red River High School. It is unfounded. There are other incidents similar in the region. We will continue to investigate.

After a large response from local law enforcement was prompted by a hoax active-shooter call at Grand Forks Red River High School, authorities have given the school the “all clear.”

There were no injuries or gunshots that occurred.

“The Grand Forks Police Department has concluded its search of the school, which was conducted on a room-by-room basis. The search conducted by the GFPD turned up nothing of interest. Everyone is not in danger, “Officials from the school district notified the parents of Red River students via email at 11:42 a.m. This afternoon’s classes will proceed as scheduled, and there will be additional counselors available.

According to Lieutenant Andrew Stein of the Grand Forks Police Department, the first call came in at around 10:30 in the morning.

“Dispatch informed the officers on duty that a person with a firearm was currently on the loose at RRHS. Upon arrival, the officers wasted no time in beginning their search of the school. It appears to be groundless at this time, but officers are still working to clear the entire building just in case “Stein’s words were included in a statement that was given to the Herald. “Until further notice, we ask that you please refrain from entering the area,”

Around 10:45 in the morning is when FOX3 was first made aware of the situation. According to a reporter who was present at the scene, there were more than a dozen vehicles belonging to law enforcement at the school. Both the Grand Forks Police Department and the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office had vehicles present at the scene of the accident. In addition, there was a fire truck and an ambulance at the scene.
