According to the Los Angeles Times, Nicole Lorraine Linton, a 37-year-old traveling nurse from Houston, Texas who was charged with six counts of murder over the crash on August 4 on Monday, has been in 13 other collisions.

According to the prosecution, Linton was involved in prior collisions, including one in 2020 that resulted in injuries and totaled two automobiles, and she reportedly understood how dangerous it was for her to be driving.

The California Highway Patrol, which is in charge of the collision investigation, turned down request for information on Linton’s driving history on Tuesday.

Monday, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón also didn’t answer questions from reporters about the suspect’s driving record, saying that the investigation was still going on.

He stated, “We are not discussing that at this time.”

According to the Times, Linton’s attorney Halim Dhanidina stated in court that his client has a history of “deep mental health concerns” from out-of-state that may have contributed to the crash, but did not explain.

Prosecutors claim that Linton’s Mercedes ran a red light at about 90 mph on Thursday, colliding with at least five other vehicles and setting at least three ablaze in a congested Windsor Hills crossroads.

Asherey Ryan, 23, was killed in the collision along with her 11-month-old son Allonzo. Ryan was eight and a half months pregnant. Reynold Lester, Ryan’s boyfriend, also perished in the collision. According to reports, the family was its route to a prenatal visit at the time.

At the press conference, Gascón stated that “a young family was decimated in the blink of an eye.”

The collision also claimed the lives of two additional women, whose identities have not been made public.
