A group of men began shooting into a crowded Queens house party on Friday night, prompting NYPD members who were monitoring for suspected gang activity to return fire, injuring four, police officials announced at an early-morning media briefing.

Four people were injured and four others were detained after NYPD officers guarding a Queens house party engaged in gunfire with a group that had arrived and began firing on close to 100 partygoers, according to the police.

Saturday, authorities stated that none of the injuries were considered life-threatening. Accusations are pending.

According to a police source who spoke to The Post, two of the alleged gunmen who opened fire on the party were out on bail after being charged in other crimes, such as a robbery and a weapons case.

“There is no doubt that when detectives come to work in this city, their lives are in serious danger. The very detectives who bravely serve New Yorkers by apprehending these recidivists are in risk due to lawmakers, prosecutors, and judges who are sending violent criminals back onto the streets and failing legislation like “increase the age.” The head of the Detectives Endowment Association, Paul DiGiacomo, stated that these authorities “remain as unaccountable as the perpetrators.”

The NYPD is still determining whether the suspects were hurt by police.

According to a department spokesman, “there are many moving parts.”

Friday night around 11:35 p.m., violence broke out at the intersection of 219th Street and 130th Avenue in Springfield Gardens, according to police.

Police stated that plainclothes cops in unmarked vehicles were monitoring the celebration out of concern for the “potential for violence by some local street crews.”

When officers in plain clothes saw a group of guys arrive at the party, threaten partygoers with guns, and start shooting, the melee broke out.

The police pulled their weapons and opened fire at the shooters while several partygoers returned fire, according to sources.

During an evening news briefing, Chief of Patrol Jeffrey Maddrey stated that no police were harmed in the exchange of gunfire.

The police discovered three firearms at the crime scene.

Four boys between the ages of 16 and 24 were shot.

Three victims were transported to Jamaica Hospital. According to authorities, a fourth victim traveled to Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

The 18-year-health old’s has been upgraded from critical to stable, according to the NYPD.

Maddrey said, “The details show how gun violence continues to hurt our communities.”

Investigators are requesting that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
