Watch as the Ohio Police Department has just release body cam footage after cops killed active shooter at a grocery store. Suspect is seen pulling out a handgun moments before being shot.
On December 21, 2022, officers reponded to reports of an active shooter at the Sidney Foodtown, 1010 Wapakoneta Avenue, at around 8 AM. Officers encountered the man near the entrance and ordered him to get down on the ground. The suspect did not comply and grabbed his gun. Officers engaged the suspect.
The alleged shooter was inside the business, according to a 911 call that was obtained through a public records request.
The suspect was transported to Wilson Health by Sidney Medics where he was pronounced deceased. No other persons were injured during the incident. The suspect is identified as Todd I Jordan (53).
The police press release states that his primary target was probably a female employee at the Foodtown. The suspect shot 1 round outside and is believed to fire about 3 rounds inside the store.
Ohio BCI is currently investigating the incident. The four officers involved have been placed on Administrative Leave pending a review of the incident. They are Officers Jason Viapiano, Andrew Shappie, Aaron Wesbecher and Sergeant Chris Burmeister.
