Country music star Toby Keith says he has stomach cancer
For the past few months, Toby Keith has been undergoing private treatment for the ailment he was recently diagnosed with, which is stomach cancer.
Keith, 60, wrote on Twitter that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer last October. Chemo, radiation, and surgery have taken up most of the last six months of my life. Good news thus far! Recuperation and relaxation are essential for me. As much as I’m looking forward to spending this time with my family, the fans are coming sooner rather than later for me. “I can’t wait.”
American Cancer Society: Stomach cancer occurs when cells in the stomach begin to grow out of control. Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, affects around one-fifth of all new cancer cases diagnosed each year in the United States. The extent of the cancer’s spread determines a patient’s chance of survival.
Keith’s website still lists concerts in June, July, August, and September. If any of these are canceled or postponed, it’s not apparent how many. Coachella Crossroads at Coachella, California, on November 11, will also feature Keith Urban.
