The Shafter Police Department received a call at approximately 9:37 a.m. (Thursday morning) regarding a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of W. Lerdo Hwy.
Shafter officers were in the area and also heard the gun shots and located and detained a possible suspect fleeing the area.
Officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshots wounds.
Medical personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he received treatment.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Shafter Police Department.
