Ontario Provincal Police search for two armed suspects in Lanark County
If suspect seen, do not approach and call 911.

The Lanark County OPP is searching for two armed individuals.
A state of emergency has been declared at 12:20 p.m. on February 10th, as the police investigate the presence of two armed suspects in the Lanark County and Sharbot Lake region.
The police are advising the public to stay inside and secure their doors and windows, and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
If you spot the suspects, do not approach them and dial 911 instead. The Lanark County OPP and K-9 Unit were seen earlier today near the Beckwith Recreation Complex on the 9th Line, searching the area along the Beckwith Trails.

Beckwith Reeve Richard Kidd has been informed of the situation by OPP Detachment Commander Insp. Karuna Padiachi, who is keeping him updated as events unfold.
The “shelter in place” order for Beckwith Public School staff and students has been lifted and parents can now collect their children from the school.
The police will remain on the premises until all the students have been safely retrieved.
According to the reeve, the school had a reduced number of students due to cancelled bus services due to the inclement weather.
At around 9 a.m., the OPP requested access to the Beckwith complex (arena) for a search.
The residents are advised to stay in their homes and lock their doors and windows.
The doors of the Beckwith Township office have also been locked.
