Pierce County Deputy involved shooting with suspect holding a hand grenade
The scene is still active, but no deputies were harmed.

There was a deputy-involved shooting at the intersection of 112th St E and Portland Ave E.
Deputies were in pursuit of a man who was carrying a grenade.
After he crossed over 112th St E, the deputies reported “Shots Fired” over the radio.
The scene is still active, but no deputies were harmed.
Law enforcement is currently conducting an investigation, and as of 11 a.m., the section of 112th Street between Portland Ave East and Franklin Pierce High School has been closed off. Drivers are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
Once the area is secured, the PCFIT will handle the investigation.
