Police investigating fatal shooting in Methuen
A man died after being shot in the Haverhill Street area

Methuen Police detectives and troopers from the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit are looking into a fatal shooting that happened early Sunday in Methuen, according to Paul F. Tucker, the district attorney for Essex County, and Scott McNamara, the chief of police in Methuen.
At around 2:06 a.m., the Methuen Police Department got a call that shots had been fired on Haverhill Street.
After a few minutes, the department received another alert informing them that a man victim who had been shot had arrived at Lawrence General Hospital. Officers from the Methuen Police Department were sent to the hospital as well as the Haverhill Street area as soon as the call came in.
The man was taken to the hospital, but after receiving treatment, he succumbed to his wounds.
As at the time of this report, there has been no identification of any victim.
No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.
