Shelter-in-place order in Erie Highlands and Erie Commons lifted

Police in Erie have told people in Erie Highlands, Erie Commons, and Grandview to stay inside because a man with a rifle was seen.

Following the self-inflicted gunshot of an armed suspect in a Loveland homicide investigation, Erie police withdrew the shelter-in-place order for Grandview, Erie Highlands, and Erie Commons.

Erie police just said shelter-in-place order is due to a man with a rifle. Officers attempting to make contact. Order is for Erie Highlands, Grandview, Erie Commons.

SWAT is on scene.

No longer a danger to the community.

No other injuries have been reported.

Please stay away from Coal Creek Trail west of Grandview for investigation.

Also on scene: Loveland, Lafayette, Denver, Longmont PDs, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
