Police officer shot in West Philadelphia

A police officer in Philadelphia has suffered a gunshot injury in the West Philadelphia area. The officer was transported to a medical facility for treatment of a chest wound sustained from the shooting, as per available reports.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 PM on Summer Street, on the 6000 block. The affected officer is a member of the Philadelphia Police Department. According to the police, the officer was able to drive themselves to Penn Presbyterian Hospital.
