Police responded to an armed robbery reported at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Monroe Park campus

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department has received a complaint of an armed robbery that took place on the Monroe Park campus of the university.

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department has received a complaint of an armed robbery that took place on the Monroe Park campus of the university.

An incident of robbery was reported to have taken place in the 700 block of West Main Street at 3:21 p.m. on September 23, 2022.

The victim claimed to VCU Police that an unidentified figure approached them in the 700 block of W. Main Street and attempted to steal their over-the-shoulder bag.

When the victim struggled and said no, the suspect brandished a black-and-silver revolver and eventually stole the victim’s bag.

A black male who was last seen sprinting in the eastward direction on W. Main Street was wearing a black jacket, stone washed blue trousers, and red and black sneakers.

The inquiry is being headed up by the VCU Police Department.

The number of police patrols in this region has been increased.
