The Scottish singer and actor was discovered dead in his Rochester, Minnesota residence on August 11, according to his relatives.

It has not been determined what caused his death.

We wish to express our deepest condolences to Darius Campbell Danesh’s family and friends on the demise of this beloved member of our community. On August 11, Darius was discovered in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, lying in bed unresponsive. The body of Darius was taken to the local medical examiner’s office, where he was pronounced dead in the afternoon.

“According to the results of their investigation, the local police department found no indications of criminal intent or unusual circumstances. At this point in time, the reason for his unexpected passing is unknown, however medical studies will continue.

“We ask that you please respect our requests for privacy at this time as we come to grips with the devastating loss of our son and brother. Thank you for your consideration.”

The celebrity, who was then known as Darius Danesh, shot to prominence in 2001 after appearing on the ITV show Popstars. He also competed on the first season of Pop Idol and finished in third place, behind Will Young and Gareth Gates.

Colourblind, his first single, came out in July 2002 and went straight to number one. This was the first of a string of songs that went to number one.

After that, he established himself as a successful theater actor, performing in Chicago as Billy Flynn in two separate runs of the production, as well as in the West End productions of Guys and Dolls, Gone With the Wind, and other shows.

Campbell Danesh was an American resident when he fell in love with the Canadian actress Natasha Henstridge. Henstridge is best known for her role in the science fiction smash blockbuster Species.

The pair married in 2011 at Santa Barbara’s San Ysidro Ranch, but divorced a few years later.
