The fire that broke out in a Max 1 Discount store in Queens on Wednesday caused a firefighter to suffer critical injuries, according to the officials.

According to the FDNY, the three-alarm fire that broke out in the Max 1 Discount on Roosevelt Avenue near 111th Street in north Corona at approximately 5:25 p.m. also resulted in the injuries of two additional personnel of the FDNY as well as a citizen.
Four of them were taken to various hospitals in the area.
According to the authorities, 138 firefighters representing 33 different units responded to the blaze, which was extinguished after nearly two hours. The blaze was brought under control at approximately 7:05 p.m., according to the FDNY.
An investigation into the origin of the incident is still underway, according to a representative for the FDNY.
