20-year-old Rakeasia Rodgers for her alleged involvement in the shooting of a rideshare driver.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Aggravated Assault detectives, assisted by North District officers, quickly identified, and later arrested 20-year-old Rakeasia Rodgers for her alleged involvement in the shooting of a rideshare driver.
On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, just before 9:00 p.m., IMPD North District officers were dispatched to the intersection of E. 38th Street and N. Keystone Avenue to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside a vehicle with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and transported the victim to Methodist hospital in stable condition.
IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives arrived on scene to further the investigation. Preliminary information led detectives to believe the victim, a rideshare driver, was not the intended target. After a short time, detectives identified, located, and detained Rakeasia Rodgers. Rodgers was later arrested for her alleged involvement in this incident.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will review the case and make the final charging decisions.
