The man shot and killed in Koreatown Monday night has been identified by his family as Los Angeles rapper Half Ounce.

A man named Half Ounce was killed in a shooting in Koreatown. His family told FOX3 that he was a rapper and a father of three children with a fourth on the way.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting took place on Monday evening at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of South New Hampshire Avenue. After receiving multiple reports of shots being fired, police officers raced to the area and discovered the victim laying in a planter at an apartment complex nearby.

It was determined that the victim had passed away at the site. There has been no quick disclosure of any additional information concerning the events that led up to the incident.

Although the dead has not been formally named, family members who were there at the scene have told FOX3 that he was a local rapper who also worked for UPS. The rapper Half Ounce already had three children who ranged in age from eight years to nine months, and his wife was expecting their fourth child.

The assailant drove away in what appeared to be a stealthy SUV.
