Following reports of an active shooter at Mansfield High School, the Mansfield Police Department responded to the school. After conducting investigations, they came to the conclusion that there was no danger and then they left the location.
Earlier this morning, local law enforcement was notified of a potential threat of an active shooter at Mansfield High School.
This threat, though now believed to be a hoax, was immediately treated as real.
The school was immediately placed on lock down as the SRO on site, along with Mansfield PD and Sheriff’s Deputies began clearing the school.
We want the public to know that the school has been cleared, and deemed safe for students and faculty.
There may be a larger than normal presence at the school throughout the rest of the day as this threat is being investigated.
All is safe, and there is no need for alarm at this time.
