Male Parent Committed Suicide at Ridgeview Junior High School in Pickerington
Pickerington Police on scene.

UPDATE: According to the police chief, No one was hurt as far as students and faculty. Agency was notified of a possible criminal act by a parent at the school.
Officer and a detective were dispatch to the site. The male parent was at the school at that time and was seated in an office.
Detective spoke to the male parent but during the brief conversation male produce a handgun and fired one shot into himself and committed suicide.
No other students, faculty and detective were hurt.
Parents DO NOT TRY TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN FROM THE TRANSPORT BUSSES! THEY NEED TO GO INTO THE HIGH SCHOOL AND BE PROCESSED BEFORE RELEASE!
There was an Parent suicide at Ridgeview Junior High School. ALL STUDENTS ARE SAFE!!
Police saying please do not approach the school as we will be moving students by bus to Pickerington Central High School.
The traffic control plan will be for parents to approach Pickerington Central HS via Lockville Rd. and Opportunity Way and exit via Opportunity Way and Hill Rd. South.
Baltimore Ohio Police Department issued the following statement:
There was an incident at a Pickerington school today that is contained. This in no way is a threat to any of the Liberty Union/Thurston school system or students. All of our school SRO’s are aware and on duty in their schools.
STUDENTS WILL NOT BE RELEASED FROM THE JR. HIGH SCHOOL!!!
