Around 3:45pm a single engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff at Hartford-Brainard Airport. Here’s a picture of the scene.
The airport is currently closed.
Pilot sole occupant, ejected from aircraft; burn injuries & possible fracture; was awake and responsive and taken to the hospital.
At this time, emergency services are en-route to Brainard Airport in response to reports of a crashed aircraft.
According to officials with the fire department, they are now responding to calls.
According to the police in Hartford, they are currently on their way to the airport through Lindbergh Drive.
There is a continuing situation at the airport, according to the Connecticut Airport Authority.
Officials are investigating.
