Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington DC swarmed by cops with ‘barricade situation’ underway near US Capitol
Just after 8:30 p.m., DC Police reported to FOX3 that the initial barricade situation had been resolved and that two firearms had been recovered from the lady who was barricaded inside the Mandarin Oriental located at 1330 Maryland Avenue, Southwest. The victim was conscious and still breathing when the police arrived, and they confirmed his condition.
After about an hour MPD was able to get in the room and place the shooter under arrest. Squad 1 assisted EMS 7 and Mecic 7 with the shooting victim.
Mandarin Hotel 1300 Bl. of Maryland Ave. S.W. MPD on scene investigating a shooting with one individual with gunshot wound injuries, FOX3 has learned.
The individual responsible did barricade themselves inside the hotel. That individual is now in custody, police told FOX3.

According to local sources, authorities have flocked to the Oriental Mandarin hotel on Maryland Ave because there may have been a gunshot.
After the incident started, fire personnel made a police assistance call.
Reports of a fire and a probable gunshot have surfaced.
A reporter who was there at the site was told by police that there is a person who is in distress.
Officials said that there is no active threat, and they are looking into what happened.
