Northlake Mall evacuated and closed as CMPD investigates report of shots fired there. There’s “no active shooter,” police say

Update: The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting an investigation of a shots fired inside Northlake Mall. Preliminary investigation indicates this is an isolated incident and there is no active shooter. MEDIC treated 2 people for non-gunshot medical issues.
Mall officials have closed the mall for the day.

On Sunday afternoon, paramedics were dispatched to the area near Northlake Mall amid reports of a possible shooting.
MEDIC reported that they were responding to a shooting near the shopping center just before 2:00 p.m., but as of 2:30 p.m., they did not have any confirmed patients. It is not clear where the present scene is taking place.
As at the time of this report, there has been neither confirmation nor identification of any victims.
No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.
Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
