2 people injured, multiple cars struck by bullets in shooting on McKnight Road in Ross Township
A major police incident has shut down a portion of McKnight Road in Ross Township. At the moment, the McKnight Road northbound lanes are closed where it intersects with the Nelson Run Road.

Ross Township Police said two people injured and multiple cars hit by bullets following a shooting along busy McKnight Road.

Update: A shooting that took place on Thursday afternoon along the busy McKnight Road in Ross Township left two persons injured.
According to Det. Sgt. Brian Kohlhepp of the Ross Township Police Department, “We do have multiple cars that were shot that were on McKnight Road and that were heading both northbound and southbound.”
According to Det. Sgt. Kohlhepp, there was one person shot and that person is currently in stable condition.
“Luckily, it doesn’t look like a very bad injury,” he said.
He also said that one of the vehicles’ broken glass hurt the second person.
According to the statement made by Det. Sgt. Kohlhepp, “Clearly, this is a widely trafficked roadway with plenty of traffic, so having an exchange of gunfire on McKnight Road as we’re coming into the rush hour is exceedingly dangerous to the general public.”
Shell casings that have been fired have been found by the police in multiple locations. According to Det. Sgt. Kohlhepp, they are also attempting to ascertain whether or not a traffic stop that was done by Pittsburgh police may or may not be relevant to the incident.
No one has been caught.
Police are still looking into the matter.
Initial Report:
There are several scenes, one of which is along McKnight and includes the Exxon station as well as Network Access, although it is currently unknown whether there are any victims.
According to our law enforcement sources, the same individual who opened fire on McKnight Avenue may have also opened fire on a mailman in the Perry North neighbourhood. The mailman was not injured in any way.
The guy was reportedly brought into custody in Woods Run, and the police are currently combing the area for an AK-47, according to the sources.
At the moment, the McKnight Road northbound lanes are closed where it intersects with the Nelson Run Road.
Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
