Police have identified the suspect in an active shooter alert in Blanca, Colorado, who was subsequently arrested after a standoff with police.
On December 7, 2022 at approximately 1359 hours, Blanca police officers responded to the intersection of Main Street and Smith Avenue for a report of an active shooter.
Upon arrival, officers located the subject and a standoff ensued. Multiple shots were fired.
A reverse 911 was issued for town residents.
The subject later identified as Ricardo Haro, 21 was taken into custody without incident.
Two rifles, a handgun and multiple rounds of ammunition were located in his possession.
This was an isolated incident and there is no longer a threat to the community.
This is still an active investigation.
