Riverside County deputy Isaiah Cordero shot dead in Jurupa Valley
A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition after being shot in Jurupa Valley, officials said.

According to sources who spoke to FOX3, a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy Isaiah Cordero who had been shot in Jurupa Valley on Thursday was brought to a hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

The identity of the Riverside County sheriff’s deputy who was fatally shot during a traffic stop in Jurupa Valley was released Thursday evening, ahead of Sheriff Chad Bianco’s press conference.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department posted an official message, stating, “Please keep the (Riverside County sheriff’s) family and friends in your thoughts as we mourn the loss of Deputy Isaiah Cordero, who died in the line of duty.”
Sheriff Chad Bianco confirmed the deputy was mortally wounded during the encounter. The motorcycle patrolman was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where life-saving measures were attempted unsuccessfully.
The circumstances remained unclear, but early indications were that the ill-fated lawman was conducting a traffic enforcement stop.
Following a pursuit that started in Riverside County and ended with gunshots on the 15 Freeway, the suspect in the incident was also fatally shot.
The incident took place in a residential area in Jurupa Valley close to the 3900 block of West Golden Avenue. The neighborhood is directly across the street from an elementary school.
According to the spokesperson, the injured deputy was brought to Riverside Community Hospital. The identify of the officer who was hurt has not been made public.
“There has been a shooting involving an RSO deputy. Later on this afternoon, Sheriff Bianco will be having a news conference, so stay tuned for that! “according to a post on the Sheriff’s Department’s Twitter account.
The authorities were successful in identifying a suspect and gave chase to the man in a pickup truck over numerous freeways in Riverside County. The pursuit finally came to a halt on the northbound 15 Freeway in the Norco area. The bearcat used by police authorities had the truck jammed against the shoulder of the road. It was thought that the suspect was “down,” but an exact update on the person’s status could not be obtained right away.
In a neighborhood that was near to the 60 Freeway, the police established a perimeter that was around three blocks long. There were no reports of any arrests being made immediately.
