Rosa L. Burney Park shooting in Southwest Atlanta leaves 1 dead & 5 hurt including 6-year-old

During a sporting event in a park in southwest Atlanta, authorities reported that six people were shot after an argument turned violent.
At approximately seven o’clock in the evening, officers from the Atlanta Police Department arrived at the Dunbar Recreation Center, which is located within Rosa L. Burney Park. According to reports, there are a total of six victims, one of which was a guy in his 30s who was pronounced dead at the scene. A child of six years old is reportedly in critical condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Egleston Hospital.
According to police, the man in his 30s was brought to Grady Hospital before dying.
The Atlanta Police Department’s Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said on Sunday, “Like we’ve said a million times, all we’re asking is for people to find ways to settle their differences without weapons.” “We’re just asking people to, like, move. We want people to just let the past be the past.”
The park was hosting a baseball or softball game at the time, the department reported. There are no known suspects, and they have not yet made any arrests.

Atlanta police confirmed that two shootings that occurred earlier on Sunday, one in a park and the other just outside, were related.
According to police, the initial shooting was claimed to have taken place at Rosa L. Burney Park, 477 Windsor St. SW. The other incident, according to police, took place in front of Dunbar Elementary School at 500 Whitehall Terrace SW, less than half a mile away.
