Ryan Axtell and Ruben Jimenez killed in murder-suicide shooting in La Junta, Colorado

The La Junta Police Department and Colorado Bureau of Investigation are actively investigating a Suspected Murder/Suicide that occurred in La Junta last night.

There is no current threat to public safety, according to officials.

On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, authorities in La Junta, Colorado began an investigation into a case involving a shooting that appeared to be a murder-suicide. Following the shooting that took place just two days after Christmas, law enforcement officials reported that the incident resulted in the deaths of two guys. Ryan Axtell and Ruben Jimenez both suffered injuries and both of them ultimately went away as a result of those injuries. Both of the people involved in the incident passed away at the site. The shooting occurred around 10 o’clock in the evening.

One of the people who passed away, named as Ryan Axtell, was a father of three boys and a mixed martial artist and boxer. Both the La Junta Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are currently conducting an investigation into what is believed to be a murder-suicide that took place in La Junta late last night. According to the officials, there is not currently a threat to the safety of the general public. The investigations are now under way, and additional particulars will be provided in a short while.
