The Sayreville Police Department is asking for the public’s help with the investigation into the shooting death of Councilwoman Dwumfour.
We are seeking assistance from residents of the Harbor Club and La Mer developments who may have video footage of the complex between the hours of 6:30pm and 8:00pm on Wednesday evening. We are also seeking out anyone who may have traveled with a dashboard camera in their vehicle during those times along Ernston Rd, Gondek Dr, or Point of Woods Dr.

According to reports, the body of New Jersey Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour was discovered outside of her home on Wednesday night after she had been shot to death.
After receiving a report of shots fired near the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex in Sayreville, New Jersey, police located the deceased corpse of 30-year-old Dwumfour inside the vehicle she was driving.
According to statements given to the media by the Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and the Sayreville police Chief Daniel Plumwacker, Dwumfour, a Republican who had served as a councilwoman for the Borough of Sayreville since 2021, had been pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.
According to reports, the authorities are treating Dwumfour’s death as a possible homicide. As of the early hours of Thursday, there had been no arrests made.
In November of 2021, Dwumfour, a Republican, won the election to fill the position. It would not be until 2024 that she would be running for reelection.
Dwumfour worked as a part-time emergency medical technician in addition to his roles as a Certified Business Analyst and Scrum Professional for Fire Congress Fellowship inc. According to the information that can be seen on her LinkedIn page, she also worked for the Champions Royal Assembly in Nigeria as a Director of Churches.
