Seagraves ISD Superintendent Joshua Neil Goen was found dead with a single self-inflicted gunshot in Lubbock County

Lubbock County Sheriff’s confirm that Seagraves superintendent Joshua Neil Goen has been found dead. He was arrested earlier this week after cameras were found in a locker room at the Seagraves high school.

At approximately 10:15 am on December 9, 2022, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 8600 block of N. FM 2378 in reference to a death investigation.

Upon arrival, deputies located 43-year-old Joshua Neil Goen deceased with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

EMS and the Medical examiner were both notified.

The investigation into this incident continues and we will update with more information when available.

On December 5th 2022 a Gaines County Sheriff’s Office CID Unit Office obtained a warrant for Joshua Neil Goen, for the offense of Invasive Visual Recording a State Jail Felony.

Gaines County Sheriffs Office with the assistance of Seagraves Police Department served the arrest warrant on Goen. Goen was taken into custody without further incident and was booked into the Gaines County Jail and is currently being held on $75,000 dollar bond.

This investigation is a collaborative effort between the Gaines County Sheriffs Office, Homeland Security Investigations Lubbock Office. FBI Lubbock Office and the Hale County Sheriffs Office.
