SEVERAL people have been shot and two police officers were injured after gun violence erupted in South Carolina, according to reports.

Several people were shot and wounded in a downtown Charleston shooting that is being investigated by police.
At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Monday, police were summoned to the intersection of America and South streets. At this moment, there is no word on the victims’ condition.
We’ve been told that bullets were fired as soon as police arrived.
Charleston Police say one of their officers sustained minor injuries and a CCSO deputy was attacked at the scene of the incident. Two individuals have been arrested in relation to this assault.
As investigations continue, the precise number of victims is still unknown.
The injured officer and deputy have subsequently been discharged from the hospital.
The police are searching for the perpetrators of the shooting.
