Four persons in custody after report of shooting incident in the area of Concession Rd 6 and Wellandport Rd. in Port Colborne
Niagara Regional Police Service has initiated a K9 search for three individuals in the vicinity.
At 5:19pm our 6 District – Port Colborne officers responded to a report of a shooting incident in the area of Concession Rd 6 and Wellandport Rd. in Port Colborne.
The initial investigation determined unknown men armed with firearms arrived at a residence. At least one shot was fired. None of the persons at the residence were injured. The suspects ran from the area.
Officers from the NRPS K9 Unit and Emergency Task Unit have begun a search / track for the suspects in that area. Members of the public who are in the area are being asked to remain indoors (shelter in place) as a precaution. Please stay out of the area.
The NRPS has requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police and a helicopter.
Further investigation has determined five suspects were involved.
